I have made it to Florida, taking up residence for the next few weeks! I AM IN HEAVEN. There is something about a little sunshine that can change your perspective in one second. While this is the first year we have created a Resort collection, judging by your reaction, you agree that Resort is a MUST HAVE addition to your jewelry rotation. I have grown up in a fashion environment where ‘resorting’ was expected– but what’s the history? I asked ChatGPT 😉
“Resort collections (also called Cruise collections) emerged in the early 20th century as designers responded to wealthy clients who traveled during winter months and needed lighter, vacation-ready wardrobes between the traditional spring/summer and fall/winter seasons. Originally created for private clients escaping to warmer destinations, these collections gained prominence in the 1950s–60s with couture houses like Dior and Chanel offering trans-seasonal pieces. By the late 20th century, resort collections became a strategic commercial pillar for luxury brands—timed for delivery during slower retail months and designed to be wearable, versatile, and globally relevant.”
The Jane Win Resort Collection comes not only because our customer is traveling, but also because you (SMARTLY!) have decided to live in warm places. And the cherry on top? I have decided to head south for my yearly residency in Florida. As a brand who ships all over the US, we can’t ignore the pull to sunny states. Layered onto MY PERSONAL pull to live on the sunny side, decision made – we have our SECOND drop of our first-ever Resort collection. My favorite piece? I have THREE:
The ‘wiggly’ fish is a STAPLE in my jewelry box. My grandmother traveled to Hong Kong when I was little and would bring back bright silk jacquard pouches with tassel pulls, filled with gold and enamel fish pendants and earrings. I was mesmerized. They are the inspiration for our Strong Ombre Stone Fish. The best part? She wiggles!
The Strong Blazing Sun is a style we have run before and I just LOVE. This limited-edition has pink hues, set with Amethyst, Pink Tourmaline, Citrine and White Topaz. The vintage sun face reminds me of a Picasso drawing sketched primitively in a chic Paris studio.
The Strong Original Clamshell Coin is so utterly luxe on our gold neck cuff. Meant to be worn with a strapless tropical top, tanned shoulders, and a sparkling cocktail in hand.
Stay tuned for the release of our Florida Residence Calendar, it is packed with trunk shows, events and photoshoots.
Tons of love and xx Janie
