Lately I have been annoyed by - sick of - quotes on Instagram that talk about how precious time is. "Take the Trip" stuff, we only have one life, we only have 80 summers, you only have 18 years with your kids. Drink lemon water in the morning. Get a billion grams of protein. Stretch. Pleaseeee stop naggingggg.
I am not the oldest and wisest, but I have had my fair share of THINGS go on in my life. Married young. Divorced + devastated. Started a business, closed it (yes Jane Win is the second business I have founded, the first failed!). Remarried. Crazy blended family. Losing my Dad and step-dad within a year of each other. Wins, losses, fails – for sure a wonderful mix of both. So again, I am not an expert, but my current thinking is: Stop listening to everyone else, listen to yourself.
Believe it or not, I am plagued with doubt. I can be fine for a month, but then get in a weird spiral of insecurity – am I working enough, am I a good Mom, am I selfish, do I look like a fool posting about jewelry on Instagram stories every morning (that one really gets me!). BUT – this summer I had some time to center myself. The take-away is that I am sick of beating myself up, comparing myself – worrying constantly. It’s a drag.
Jane Win has always been about jewelry with meaning, and COINS 😊 but I would layer on that we are also about being yourself. Wear the jewelry your way, layer it with other brands, let it be a part of you – let it compliment what you have going on, let the meaning inspire YOU. Get it – it’s about you.
This rant may not connect with you and if so – delete. But if you want, come with me in ignoring all the ‘you should’s’ in life and just LIVE IT – live it your way. I guess the only Instagram quote that really applies is:
Today we are restocking the Sundial Coin in both Gold and launching NEW in Silver. As you may remember, three years ago Doug (Mr. Jane Win) and I were in Italy and saw a million sundials and decided to create this coin as a tribute to time, how precious it is, how quickly it passes. I never want to waste a DAY. Next week, Mr. Jane Win and I head back to Italy for more inspiration ♥️ And we will take you along for the ride. If you have any tips for visiting Sardinia, please reply with your hot-spots.
OH and the fun part. Let’s go shopping! I am HALF into the Labor Day outfits/sunny Sardinia, and HALF into thinking about Fall. Here’s a dump of clothes I am loving right now 💋💋💋💋
xx and tons of love, Janie
