Call it a cliché, but I do ask myself that now-classic question: What is my WHY? Thank you, Simon Sinek.
I usually come back to this: We want Jane Win to bring joy. We want it to connect people—to truly bring them together through jewelry.
I see it happen all the time. At trunk shows, a group of women will start talking about why they chose a particular coin, what its meaning represents to them, or the milestone it marks in their lives. Those conversations are some of my favorite moments. This idea of spreading joy and creating connection has always been a fundamental building block of Jane Win.
Similarly, one of my own core values is showing up for the people I love. I may not be able to show up for everyone, but if you are in my circle, I will move mountains for you. Loyalty means a lot to me.
So a few months ago, when my friend Marghi called and asked if I would create a coin for an organization that was important to her, I think I said YES before she even finished the sentence. I was in. I wanted to help. What happened next was pretty incredible.
I learned more about the One Love Foundation, and I became so deeply moved by its mission—and so proud that Jane Win could play even a small part in supporting its work. One Love is a national nonprofit working to end relationship abuse through prevention education. The organization gives young people the knowledge and tools they need to recognize the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships. One Love was founded in honor of Yeardley Love, a young woman who was tragically killed by her former boyfriend just weeks before graduating from college.
When I look at photographs of Yeardley, I see my daughters. I see the young women who work in my office. I see so many young people we all know and love. It hits home. And that is why we are so proud—and profoundly honored—to introduce this very special EMPOWER heart coin in support of One Love.

The word EMPOWER reflects the heart of their work: giving young people the confidence, knowledge, and tools to build healthier relationships and recognize when something isn’t right.
