Amy! For those who do not know you, give us a bit of an introduction. Where are you from and how did you get your start?

Printfresh is a size-inclusive, sustainable, sleepwear and fashion line that is all about bright, bold, whimsical patterns. I’ve always loved art, design, and fashion, and I knew I wanted to work in design in some way. I grew up in Pennsylvania and then went to the Rhode Island School of Design, thinking I would do graphic design or photography, but I ended up studying textile design (something I didn’t even know was an industry before going to college!). I interned a lot through college for designers and artists and learned so much about those fields, as well as the nature of having a small business. I moved back to Pennsylvania, to Philadelphia -  to work at Urban Outfitters and Free People as they were launching their first store and catalogs, so that experience really applies to what we are doing these days with our growing business. I had a small textile design business called Printfresh Studios for 10 years before launching our own product line as you know it, Printfresh!

Printfresh is known for its vibrant prints. How did you discover your passion for pattern design? How did Printfresh begin? Tell us everything

I love patterns and colors and have always been really drawn to them - even before I knew it was something I could make a career out of. Vintage fabrics, global textiles, and colorful magazine spreads always caught my eye. I worked behind the scenes in textile design for a while, curating a vintage archive resource for designers, as well as designing and art directing prints and embroideries for over a decade. When Printfresh launched its first products, we actually started with stationery. We were self-funded and had very limited resources, so we started with a focused product line, knowing that it would evolve to other categories. We developed some beautiful hand-painted patterns but couldn’t get them to look right on a journal. Eventually, we decided to incorporate them into a long set of pajamas. We traveled to India to work with a factory that could help us craft ethically made, organic cotton styles. After this, we knew immediately that sleepwear was the right direction for us! I appreciate that pajamas and loungewear aren’t forced into the same rules as other clothing categories. From the beginning of our pajama line, I always prioritized size inclusivity and sustainability. As we’ve expanded from a few select prints and styles into larger comprehensive collections (and apparel!), we’ve maintained this focus, and it’s been incredibly rewarding.

The fashion industry feels like it's changing all the time. If you could go back to when you founded the company in 2016, what piece of advice would you give your past self, knowing what you do now?

I would tell myself: Trust your instincts and be patient. In the early days, I often felt like we had to do everything at once; we experienced such rapid growth in our business, but I needed to slow down sometimes and try to embrace steady growth, which can lead to stronger foundations.

You wear our Protect Original Coin (one of my favorites!) – what drew you to this piece?

I love how symbolic and meaningful Jane Win pieces are. The Protect Coin really spoke to me because it represents strength, resilience, and protection, which feels so relevant as a business owner, mother, and creative. There’s something so special about wearing a piece of jewelry that carries an intention with it—it’s like a little reminder to trust in the journey.

We want you to spill your secrets! What does Printfresh have coming up for the spring and summer?
There is so much to be excited about!  We have some fantastic collaborations on the calendar for the next few months. It’s always so fun to blend what we do best with some of the brands we admire and their personal styles! Mother’s Day is one of our biggest gifting moments of the year, and we’ve designed collections that celebrate different types of moms, from dog moms to garden lovers and everything in between. And finally, some really beautiful new apparel styles inspired by one of my favorite vacation destinations, Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Think vibrant colors, breezy silhouettes, and vacation-ready prints!

A few quickfire questions:

If you were to be an animal, which one would you be?

A fox—curious, creative, and always adapting!

What is your go-to drink at your local coffee shop?

Flat white or latte. But I think I make the best coffee at home, I’m a total nut about making it perfect.

Give us your hottest take in fashion right now.
Fashion should be fun and joyful—people are craving pieces that make them feel happy. I love that playful prints, color, and whimsical design are having a moment. Who says your clothes have to be serious?
