Jane Win Girl Gang: Sheridan French

A Note from Jane

Happy Happy Galentine's Day! We are celebrating Galentine's Day by spotlighting Sheridan French - a Fort Worth based collection designed to spark JOY. I have so much to say but I won't bury the lead, you can enter to win $900 of Jane Win and Sheridan French goodies by clicking this link.
Earlier in my career, I managed the incredible group of print artists at Lilly Pulitzer. They drew and painted ALL DAY and I chose the prints that were chosen for the apparel line.  This experience gave me such an appreciation, an admiration, a LOVE for print artistry. You may have noticed we are a bit print obsessed (printed shipping boxes, printed gift box with every order, need I say more?). When I was first introduced to Sheridan, her bold and unique prints stood out. You have seen me wearing them all throughout our Florida residency. Her designs are effortless, chic, and you can't help but SMILE while wearing them.
We're very excited to partner with Sheridan on this giveaway. Sheridan's energy is contagious - I hope you'll take a moment to read more about her and her line in our interview.

Sheridan! Let’s start with you. Tell us a little bit about your journey—did you always know you were destined for the creative world, or was there a road that led you here? How did you get your start?

I *always* knew I would do something creative. Creativity is in my bones! My great-grandmother was a seamstress. My grandmother is an artist. My mother is an interior designer. I designed my first dress with my great-grandmother and mother when I was 12 years old for a friend’s Bat mitzvah and never looked back. When I was 13, I started embellishing t-shirts on my back porch, showed them to a boutique down the road from TCU, they got picked up, kept selling out, and it beat the heck out of babysitting revenue, so I kept it up and loved every second.

We’re all about that JOY vibe too! What made you choose that word to perfectly capture the spirit of your brand, and how does it shape what you do?

Joy is the most beautiful word, isn’t it? The imagery it immediately conjures? In an industry often marked by seriousness and exclusivity, I wanted my brand to be undeniably fun, so I am completely dedicated to infusing women’s wardrobes with pieces that help them embrace their confidence and make getting dressed a joyful experience. Everything I design is a celebration of color, comfortable, and flattering for women of all ages – I am such a champion of women and want us all to feel as extraordinary and joyful wearing my designs as I have felt in creating them—because that’s what makes getting dressed truly joyful.

I have such an appreciation for your prints. Before I started Jane Win I spent so much time in print design and direction. Where do you find your inspiration and what is your design process?

Thank you!! Prints are incredibly mood-boosting, and it is such an honor to be able to give that gift through my designs. I find inspiration everywhere I look; my “inspo” album on my phone is full of photographs from the tile at the smoothie bar at Whole Foods, to a gorgeous rich purple color I saw on a flower when we were in Mexico last year. My brain never turns off when it comes to seeing how something obscure can translate to a print. It is a gift and a curse, haha!

We need to know: what’s your go-to Sheridan French outfit this that you can’t stop wearing?

I am truly OBSESSED with our Spring collection. Obsessed. The Eloise is our best-selling body style year over year and makes every woman feel like a million bucks when she slips into it, so that is always a go-to for me, but, our newest dress silhouette, The Every Body dress, is knock-out and I cannot take it off! It is one size fits most and the most comfortable, flattering, chic style that really has my attention at the moment. Anything in our Raspberry or Onyx Wildflower print is giving me all the heart eyes right now as well!

If you could drop everything and travel right now, what’s your absolute FAVORITE destination you’ve ever visited?

Pre-35 years old, Greece. Post-35 years old, a hidden gem, Cuixmala in Mexico – Oh. My. Word. It was truly the most remarkable place I have ever been to. I don’t often want to return to places as I prefer as many fresh and new experiences as possible, but I would go back to Cuixmala year after year after year.

You wear the Courage Original Coin with your #neckmess…what drew you to this piece?

Courage is a very powerful word and often misunderstood. It is not the absence of fear, as most people it seems often believe it to be. Courage is the decision to act despite fear. It is the willingness to take chances and embrace uncertainty. It is about trusting in your own power, confidence and strength. We will never have all the answers, but we do have the ability to figure things out. I need that reminder regularly – that every great accomplishment begins with a single step, and that step is always, always worth taking.

A few quickfire questions..

How do you feel about matching sets—yay or nay?

YAYAYAYAY!

What’s your go-to beauty product?

Anything by Monastery Made. Simply glorious.

Morning routine: quick and easy or totally glam?

Quick and easy! I am still in my slippers when I drive the kids to school.

Most worn item in your closet right now?

Always one of my leather jackets. Treasures and wardrobe staples I always love throwing over one of my dresses before warmer weather is here to say. As spring comes upon us, I will definitely reach for my lavender leather Gucci jacket again and again.
