Summer Check-in, surprise surprise it has not been a simple summer it’s been an ACTION PACKED, flying by the seat of my pants, exhausting (but in a good way), dancing, playing, running, smiling, jet-ski filled SUMMER (in all caps!).
Over Memorial Day I sent out my ‘note from Jane’ after a busy spring and a desire to just slow down. I really believed (HAAAAA) that I could turn back the clock and have an old-fashioned summer with lazy days, simple food, no phone addiction – a season to UNPLUG.
Well. I was wrong. But in kind of a good way?
Over the 4th of July we had all the kids up to New Hampshire with friends and it was one of the greatest weeks of my life. I am not joking at all, it was heaven. The weather was perfect, so hot and sunny. The kids were all so happy – to be together and do all the things we do here in the summer. We went 100% every day and night. Surfing off the boat, hiking, jumping off the high dive before big lunches at the club. We made huge dinners for 15 people every night, we even had the mobile Hibachi come to the house and we nearly set the neighborhood on fire with sake bombs. We stayed up late playing games, we had cocktail competitions that left us a little tipsy. We watched the stars at night. We literally…did it all.
Because the sun has been shining every day, Mr. Jane Win and I have an attitude of – YES TO EVERYTHING. We walk or run every morning, we make-up our own boot camps…we take picnics on the boat for lunch, we play tennis in the afternoon and end up with our friends on the dock till dinner. We collapse into bed at night. We hosted all our friends for a big dinner, trivia game and then dancing to a DJ down the street until the police shut it down. I learned mahjong, played in ping-pong tournaments, had a shrimp boil. YES. TO. EVERYTHING.
It feels as though Jane Win the company has been in the same boat. Our sale was block-buster, thank you for shopping (we really appreciate you showing up ❤️). We had a million high school and college kids working for the summer in the showroom packing orders – we got 400 orders out the door in one day – a new record! We had an ice cream truck come. We teamed up with Skirt in Stone Harbor for a trunk show and there was a line out of the door, we have never had such a big turn-out. We had to “emergency drive” more jewelry down to the shore! In Nantucket and the Hamptons we have been in ‘residence’ at our favorite stores (Centrepoint in ACK and Goop out East), and they have been decking women in Jane Win at a record pace. We have found ourselves on some incredible women this summer, including Kaitlin Collins, Giada DeLaurentiis and the First Lady. I was in NYC last week sharing our holiday collection with press and influencers. It’s been – a YES TO EVERYTHING summer at the office. OF COURSE the gals have been able to take vacations – Emily just got back from Colombia (So cool) and Rachel is now with everyone’s favorite office dog swimming everyday in the ocean on the cape.
The best news is that summer is just hitting it’s half way mark. Thank goodness. Even though we have been moving quickly, we want this season to last (honestly I want it to last forever 😉). One thing on my mind, is that my daughters are headed back out of the nest after a summer close to home - Tiki to Clemson and Sabrina to her first year of law school. I will be in full MOM MODE for those moments, driving them to school, working on their apartments, and of course leaving them wearing a piece of Jane Win so they know their Mom is with them. We emailed about the FOREVER coin yesterday as a great gift for those headed out of the nest, but I also really love a simple heart like our carved heart to shower our girls with love:
Given Summer is only halfway through, and that we have been active during the day AND active with parties at night, I thought I would pull my favorite outfits and jewelry for this active life. First…my favorite work-out ensembles and second, the chicest evening wear:
Happy HALF WAY MARK. I hope you are living summer 2024 at 100% and if not, you have plenty of time left.
Sending tons of love
xx, Janie
