Western Influence and GASP: Silver

Western Influence and GASP: Silver

Posted by Jane Paradis on

Thank you Georgia O'Keeffe, thank you Ralph Lauren, and thank you InStyle Magazine. The Western influence is coming on strong for Spring 2017 and hints are being sprinkled everywhere. One day, while I was shopping TJ Maxx, I ran across a giant costume western necklace, silver with turquoise stones in a crescent shape. It looked so fresh. Had me thinking about an open white cotton shirt, distressed jeans and a showstopping Native American necklace (check out the Ralph Lauren Spring 2011 fashion show here for inspiration). All of a sudden SILVER started to become more interesting, and I haven’t thought that in a long time.

I pulled out a pair of silver butterfly earrings my Dad brought me from New Mexico. I started researching some amazing (and expensive) western jewelry...and then the December InStyle came with (Queen) Julia Roberts on the cover photographed on her ranch in western-inspired DIOR. So there you have it...the trend is real.

Rumor has it we will all be wearing cowboy boots this Spring, so start choosing your Western jewelry now. I love that you can wear one statement necklace, earring, bracelet OR layer up with lots of little mixed metal pieces, turquoise and coral. The best part is that you don’t have to choose between silver or ‘gold/brass’ - they lay together so well when united by the larger earthier stones and western look. Shop below from our picks in the market!

Tons of love and xx, Janie
