In 1985 the first American Elle magazine cover (at left) featured Yasmin Le Bon in a signature 80’s look: black knit, a pop of yellow, and a graphic earring. There is something to the graphic earrings that are hitting stores right now that have that 80’s edge. Could it be because Fall 2017 is all about RED - a signature color of the 80’s?
We are spotting graphic statement earrings in bold colors or dripping in gold spheres, and they look fresh. Circles, triangles and connected shapes all say 1980-something. Now, I didn't have pierced ears when this earring moment was happening (lol) and it feels a little scary - does the look require spiky hair or a severe shoulder pad?
