It honestly all stared with Jenna Bush Hager.
"Jenna was graciously wearing Jane Win almost every day on the Today Show and I was so blown away. We knew we wanted to do a little something with her, and since the philanthropic mission for Jane Win is around education – and her love of books…it all very naturally evolved. I am so proud of this collaboration…and of course I love the jewelry it’s beautiful – but more-so I am honored to work with an institution with such a legacy as the Barbara Bush Foundation. It’s a career high for me."
-Jane Winchester Paradis, Jane Win Founder
The designs were inspired by this quote from First Lady Barbara Bush:
"A man gave me some peonies once, and he said, “If you plant them just as we say—you dig a deep hole, fertilize it, spread the roots, and put the dirt back on—then they may not bloom the first year, but they will bloom for the next 100 years.” That’s the way I think about literacy. You teach a parent and child to read, and that family will read for a hundred years to come." — BARBARA BUSH
Like so many, we love the peony flower, so we made flowers the focal point of the collection. The word Bloom and the meaning it holds connects with the mission of literacy. To bloom is to thrive, it is beautiful, and it leads to a better future.
